High-Voltage Amplifiers for Piezo Scanners

Nanonis offers a low noise, high-voltage amplifier specifically designed for nanopositioning applications, such as piezotube scanner for either room temperature or low-temperature applications. With a noise level of only 80μVrms in a bandwidth of 2kHz, the HVA4 offers the lowest noise on the market in scanning probe applications.

  State-of-the-Art Hardware

Built with the greatest care, the Nanonis High-Voltage Amplifier has the lowest noise on the market with a measured value below 80μVrms in a bandwidth of 2kHz. Specifically designed for SPM applications, it is perfectly suited for atomic resolution imaging on a STM or AFM set-up.

  4 Inputs / 6 Outputs

With 4 inputs and 6 outputs, the HVA4 can handle any type of piezotube scanner. X/Y, Z and AUX have independent turn-on switches with LED indicators. The auxiliary channel can for instance be used for high-voltage bias, interferometer regulation or to drive a simple coarse motor (with function generator module).

  Gain Selection

Each axis has 4 selectable gains from 3 predefined set depending on the application: (1, 4, 7, 14); (1, 4, 10, 22) or (1, 4, 15, 40). The actual gain is indicated with an LED on the front panel and digitally read-back by the software for a consistent use. The Z- and AUX- channels have a inverter switch to change output polarity.
